The number one question that I see on Yahoo-Answers-Honolulu is "What island should I go to?"  The answer to that question is different for almost everybody because everyone has different expectations and circumstances affecting their choices.  Are you an outdoor-activity type person?  Are you looking for lots of nightlife?   Are you looking to get away from it all and find as peaceful, natural setting as possible?   Are you wanting to have a minimum of driving or not rent a car at all?

Here are brief overviews of the individual islands.  There is much more that could be said about each island, but this is meant to give you a general idea of what each island has to offer so that you might be able to pick the best island that will meet your interests.  Consider this the first step in narrowing your choices for "best island".
